Due to server issues, this blog was unavailable since sunday afternoon. It annoyed me, and got me thinking about the whole cleanup thing, getting rid of old posts (which isn’t supported by blogsome, so i’d have to delete them manually), creating a more picture friendly environment etc.. I searched around a little, preparing for the worst (since it wouldn’t have been the first time that something hosted on blogsome vanishes for good), and tentatively created another blog, one that was designed to be a photoblog. It presents images nicely, the layout is nice and clean, also presents data such as camera model, exposure time, aperture and so on. The only thing that i dislike is the fact that it was designed to post one picture a day, not more. I’ll play around with it some more, to see if I can find a solution to that. The thought to post my favourite pictures there, and the ‘rest’, that i’d like to show anyways, over here, occured to me as well. However, that’d be somewhat inconvenient. I’ll look into it.

The blog got a new design. I’ve had the previous one since i started blogging nearly three years ago. I put a whole lot of work in it, to make it just the way i wanted it to be. Now today, i looked at it and discovered that i didn’t like it anymore. So it had to go. I’ll probably do a cleanup on all the older posts as well, since they have nothing to do with what this blog is about now. Or…something. Too much history accumulating in one place.
Enjoy the new looks, it isn’t perfect yet, a few more changes to the new template will happen once i got the time.

I saw the most amazing sunset today, when I was on the train back from university. Of course, i didn’t have my camera with me, and i’m in general no big fan of sunsets and all that “standard image” stuff. But this really was amazing. Hunks of clouds in black and purple, as well as orange and yellow, and a flaming red sky, in the foreground buildings with glowing windows providing an awesome silhouette. People in the train actually took out their mobiles and took pictures of the sky. A nice dramatic finish for this dull, grey and rainy day.
So, the weather forecast was quite good for today. Light clouds and sunny passages were announced. Of course, that’s rare these days, so i made some plans on where to go, packed my stuff, left the house when the sun was shining, somewhat at least. Now, those of you who know my house, also know it takes me about 45 secounds from my apartment door to the backyard. Getting out there, big heavy raindrops started falling down and the sky had changed from light grey to lead. I stood there for a few minutes, got wet, and went up again. Frustrating.
But, at least i got the long overdue update of my blog done instead, removed inactive links from the roll and added a photo-section.

No picture today - the weather has been crappy and rainy all week, I’m buried somewhere in a huge pile of work, and the camera, of course, hasn’t been delivered yet. Instead, check this out - i had to laugh when i saw the first image.

After patiently and wistfully waiting for more than one week, finally the tripod I ordered arrived today. Well, as usual i had to pick it up at the postal office, a huge and very light box. Got me confused at first, but turned out they put the tripod box in there and with it a serious amount of air filled protection stuffing thingies. Way too much effort considering the value of the shipment, but what do you know … it fit in my bag and went home with me.
yes, we might, or might not be back. i just rediscovered this blog after months of not even thinking about it. let’s see where we end up.
